Prague Card is designed for visitors who prefer a physical card instead of the digital QR pass in the Prague CoolPass app. 
The original Prague Card® brand has more than 30 years of history in Prague sightseeing.

What is the difference between Prague CoolPass and Prague Card?

Is public transport included with Prague CoolPass?

No. Public transport is not included with Prague CoolPass. Prague’s public transport system is inexpensive and easy to use. This allows Prague CoolPass to focus on providing maximum value through its wide selection of included attractions and experiences.

Prague CoolPass does, however, include a free sightseeing bus tour, a choice of free river cruises and a special price for Hop-on Hop-off sightseeing buses. Prague’s historic centre, where the highest concentration of major attractions is located, is also compact and easy to explore on foot.

For longer journeys, affordable 24-hour and 72-hour public transport tickets provide unlimited travel around Prague.

For example, compared with Prague Visitor Pass, Prague CoolPass offers a larger selection of 90+ included attractions and experiences and is lower-priced for comparable durations. It is also more flexible, with validity options from 1 to 10 consecutive days.

Prague CoolPass combines Prague’s major historic sights, museums and galleries with river cruises, sightseeing tours, interactive and family attractions, entertainment, beer experiences and food tastings. Prague Visitor Pass is a city-owned tourism product that combines Prague’s classic attractions with unlimited public transport.

The Prague CoolPass app offers extensive features to help visitors filter and find attractions and make the most of their stay. Available free in 17 languages, it combines the digital pass with an interactive city guide, trip planner, nearby attractions, interactive maps, live opening hours and service updates, with most functions also available offline.

Prague CoolPass also builds on more than 30 years of the original Prague Card® tradition and has been used by over one million visitors.

For visitors looking for the widest variety of attractions and experiences, flexible validity, lower prices and a feature-rich travel app, Prague CoolPass is the stronger choice. Prague Visitor Pass may be more suitable for visitors whose priority is unlimited public transport together with Prague’s classic attractions.

How does it work?

Available in 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10-day options, the Prague CoolPass provides you with free or discounted admission to over 100 attractions. You can use our website, Prague CoolPass mobile App or a special printed map that comes with the physical Prague Card to choose the sights you would like to see.
Please note that the validity is counted in consecutive days, not hours.
To activate your Card, please sign your name on the reverse side and specify the start date. Then simply show your Card at the entrance or ticket office, to have it scanned and get your free or discounted admission ticket.
In case of the digital Prague CoolPass, you will first download the pass code onto your mobile device and then register it, stating your name in the App. Likewise, it will be activated upon your first visit to an attraction – when the pass is scanned.

Question 10

Is CoolPass valid by days or hours?

VALID ON CONSECUTIVE DAYSThe validity of the Prague CoolPass/Prague Card is defined by consecutive days, not 24 hours. This means that if you start using the three-day Prague Card on Monday (regardless of the time), its benefits will be available to you on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. As a result, it's a good idea to start sightseeing in the morning, giving you the opportunity to see more of Prague - and save more too.

How do I activate my CoolPass?

BY USING IT TO ENTER THE FIRST ATTRACTIONBoth the Prague CoolPass and the Prague Card are activated when you first enter a partner attraction, where they are scanned and registered by the terminal. If you are exploring Prague with our digital CoolPass, you must first download the code to your app and register it by entering your name. Only then can you activate it. Before using the card, you need to write the holder's name and the date you start using it on the back of the card. Without this information, the card will not be considered valid. The Prague CoolPass/Card must be activated within one year from the date of purchase.

Is it possible to extend the dates of my CoolPass?

Prague CoolPass / Prague Card is designed for a continuous use – once activated, it will be valid for consecutive days. It is not possible to have a “gap” day or add extra days on the same pass.

How do I use my  Prague CoolPass at attractions?

Accepted Answer

To get admission with the Prague CoolPass, simply show your valid CoolPass on your mobile device or Prague Card  at the attraction ticket office. It will be scanned using special card readers and you will either obtain your free (or discounted) ticket, or be shown through directly.

Can I skip the queues at the attractions?

In order to enter an attraction with the Prague Card or the digital Prague CoolPass, you first have to get it scanned at the attraction ticket office and get a free/discounted ticket. Therefore, you will not be able to skip the general queue – in case, there is one. However, normally you will not see long queues in Prague, except for certain attractions during the summer months.

How can I book a free bus tour with my Prague CoolPass?

The free bus tour around the historical city of Prague is provided by our long-standing partner, Martin Tour.In order to benefit from the Prague CoolPass, you have to reserve your place on board directly at the Martin Tour tickets & departure points:Stop A: Kiosk Old Town Square - corner of Pařížská street No.1Stop B: Republic Square - opposite to the Municipal House, in front of the Hybernia PalaceSimply present your valid Prague CoolPass / Prague Card and get a free ride.
If you want to take this tour on a particular date, you can make a reservation by sending an e-mail to info@martintour.cz , with a mention that you have a Prague CoolPass. Otherwise, you can book the bus tour by visiting the Martin Tour tickets & departure points - any day before. In this case, take care not to activate your Prague CoolPass in advance, simply make a reservation and activate it only on the day of the tour (if it’s your first attraction).

How can I book a free boat cruise with my Prague CoolPass?

The free cruise along on Vltava river is provided by our long-standing partner -The Prague Venice company (Pražské Benátky). To obtain your free ticket with the Prague CoolPass /  Prague Card, please visit the ticket office of the Charles Bridge Museum located next to the cruise departure point. Admission to the museum is covered by thePrague CoolPass / Prague Card together with the cruise.
Departure point: Křižovnické náměstí 3 – the only dock directly on the Royal Road, right below the Charles Bridge.

How do I book other tours with my CoolPass?

To benefit from a variety of other discounted tours and entertainment spots (up to -50%), you need to visit our partners’ ticket offices or contact them by e-mail. Please mention that you would like to make a reservation with the Prague CoolPass.
You will find the contacts of all partners on our website or in the Prague CoolPass mobile app.
To get a discount from our partner Prague Boats, offering a wealth of delightful cruises, please visit their website www.prague-boats.cz and purchase the tickets online, applying the promo code “PRAGUECARD2026”. Please note that you still have to present your valid Prague CoolPass / Prague Card when entering the boat.

Question 18

Will the discounts still apply after the CoolPass expires?

Some of the discounted offers include tours to the destinations outside Prague (Karlovy Vary, terezín, Český Krumov etc.)
So, in some cases, the tour providers may grant you a discount even several days after your CoolPass has expired.However, they are not contractually bound to do it, so we recommend to consult the tour provider about this in advance.

What to do in case of a technical problem?

On a very rare occasion – if the Card cannot be properly scanned at the attraction ticket office, you will be granted free (or discounted) entry regardless of this fact. 
In such a case, the attraction staff are contractually bound to check the validity of your Card (according to the start date written on the back side), and if the Card is valid, write down the Prague Card number manually and provide you with a free/discounted ticket.

How many people can use one CoolPass?

The Prague CoolPass / Prague Card is a non-transferable, personal card that carries the name of its holder and cannot be used by anyone else.

What is digital CoolPass?

Accepted Answer

The Prague CoolPass is both your digital version of the Prague Card and a mobile App where you can store it. The pass looks like a unique QR-code that grants you free or discounted admission to the Prague Card attractions. 
It has many advantages over the physical card – you do not have to visit our collection points in order to pick it up, it does not get lost, and all information about the Prague Card offer stays up-to-date. It is the perfect option if you’re already in Prague and want to start visiting attractions immediately.
If you want to use our App solely for information purposes, you can download it for free to your iOS or Android device, and there will be no need to register. The payment is only required if you choose to buy a digital pass to enjoy free and discounted entries to the Prague Card attractions.

Question 22

Is there any difference in the range of attractions between the digital CoolPass and the physical Card?

Not at all – the offer of attractions remains completely identical, same as you get with the physical Prague Card. The only difference is that you will be using a convenient QR-code in your mobile App instead of a plastic smart card to get admission.

How can I purchase a digital Prague CoolPass?

Accepted Answer

If you want a digital pass, you have two options: either buy it on our website, selecting the ‘Mobile Pass’ at the checkout, or purchase it directly from the App. In each case you will receive a confirmation e-mail with the order reference number and pass codes. 
To redeem and use your digital pass, you will need to install the Prague CoolPass App. Then, open your confirmation email and follow the instructions that will help you download your passes to the App and register them. This is very easily done – you just have to enter the reference codes provided in this e-mail. 
Once this process is complete, your digital Prague CoolPass will be stored within the App. You can access it by pressing the QR code logo, or opening ‘My CoolPass’ section of the Menu.

Question 24

How do I get my digital CoolPass?

Your digital CoolPasses will be stored in the App Menu (‘My CoolPass’). You can also access them by clicking on QR logo. To switch between several CoolPasses on one device, please swipe.
You will DOWNLOAD your passes to the App by entering the reference codes (order number to download all passes to one device, an individual pass code to download just one pass).
The Prague CoolPass is ACTIVATED once you have entered an attraction or redeemed your free/discounted tour ticket. Since then, the pass will be valid for the number of consecutive days that you purchased.

Question 25

How do I proceed if I have purchased a CoolPass for more people?

When you purchase several CoolPasses, they can either be downloaded to the same mobile device, or used by each visitor in your group separately. 
You will receive a confirmation e-mail that contains both the single order reference number and individual codes for each pass. So, if you want to have all passes on your device, you will need to enter the order reference number in your App; otherwise, each person can enter an individual code on their separate devices.

Do I need an internet connection to use digital CoolPass?

You will only need an internet connection for download and registering your Prague CoolPass. It is not required when you present your QR code at the attraction ticket offices.

Can I use a printed QR code to enter the attractions?

Please note that the Prague CoolPass is only valid when presented on your mobile device - as part of the App. Make sure you have the Prague CoolPass App installed and running, so that you could show the QR code stored in its Menu.

Can I convert my digital CoolPass to a physical card?

Accepted Answer

No, if you purchase the mobile Prague CoolPass, it is not possible to convert it into the physical Prague Card. In the same way, if you have purchased the physical Prague Card online, you will not be able to redeem your voucher in the App and get a mobile pass instead.

Yes. The Prague CoolPass App is fully available in English and 16 other languages.

How do I use digital CoolPass at the attractions?

Accepted Answer

After you have received the QR-code on your mobile device and registered it, you will be able to use it for entering attractions. Just show your mobile Prague CoolPass at the attraction ticket office to get free or discounted admission.
The mobile pass will be activated after it was first scanned by a special reader at an attraction. Since then, it will be valid for the number of consecutive days that you purchased. 
Both the physical Prague Card and the mobile Prague CoolPass on your device need to be presented at the attractions’ ticket offices. They will scan your registered pass(-es) and provide you with a free/discounted ticket.

Which attractions are included in the Prague CoolPass?

The Prague CoolPass features over 100 best attractions of the city, including museums, tours and entertainment spots – 90+ of them will provide free entry with the CoolPass / Prague Card and the rest will offer discounts up to 50%.
We have covered all the most important and exciting tourist attractions, so you could enjoy the best of Prague. However, there are some popular attractions, which are currently not covered by the Prague CoolPass. These are the Old Town Hall and Astronomical Clock, Klementinum, Strahov Library and Botanical Garden. 
The most popular attractions that you can visit with the Prague CoolPass for free include Prague Castle,  Jewish Museum with all synagogues and Old Jewish Cemetery, Prague Zoo, Troja Chateau,  Vyšehrad Casemates, all sites of National Gallery and National Museum including the historical building opened recently after many years of major reconstruction. And, of course, do not miss out on “Prague – Historical City” bus tour and Prague Venice cruise along the Vltava and choice of one of 4 sightseeing cruises with Prague Boats.

Where can I find out an attraction's opening and closing times?

Each attraction in our offer has an individual page on the praguecoolpass.com website and in the Prague CoolPass mobile app. There you can find such attraction-specific information as open hours, normal entry fee, transport directions and contacts. 
You can also see some basic information about the participating attractions in our special printed map, however this media prevents us from including the most recent updates – if they occur after printing. The best way to find out the latest tips & info on temporary closures is to use our mobile app Prague Cool Pass, or check the Closures page on our website.
We do our best to keep you informed, but please note that the attractions reserve the right to change their prices and hours without notice.

Are the attractions open on public holidays?

Prague attractions are usually open on public holidays, even during Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. However, some closures can occur on the day after: December 25 and January 1.

Are all included attractions open all year round?

Accepted Answer

The popular attractions in Prague are mostly available all year round, with only a few exceptions. For example, the Troja Chateau is closed from November to March and some tours/river cruises operate from April to October. You can check this information on the individual attraction pages on our website or in the Prague CoolPass mobile App .
Please note that opening hours of attractions may change depending on the season. Many attractions are usually closed on Mondays.

What is the meaning of the different type labels of the attractions included in CoolPass?

FREE with CoolPass / INCLUDED = entry to this attraction is included in the price of your CoolPass. You will receive a free ticket upon entry.
DISCOUNT / -% = discounted ticket for CoolPass holders, the appropriate discount expressed as a % or specific amount will be deducted from the regular price.
PUBLIC FREE (green) = this attraction is open to the public free of charge. We just want to inform you about this possibility.

What is the price of Prague CoolPass?

Please check out our Getting Your Pass page  to find out the most up-to-date information regarding the Prague CoolPass /Card cost. Currently we offer two price rates – one for adult visitors and the other for children and students. The value of the Prague Card increases with the pass duration.
Also, please note that if you buy the Prague Card in Prague, you will pay in local currency (CZK), whereas if you make a purchase of Prague CoolPass / Prague Card online, there will be a fixed corresponding price in EUR independent of exchange rate movements.

How do I get a Prague CoolPass/Prague Card if I order it online?

You can easily order both the digital Prague CoolPass and the physical Prague Card online. If you have chosen a physical card, a voucher will be emailed to you to enable you to collect your card from any of our collection points.
If you opt for a digital Prague CoolPass, you do not need to visit any collection point. You can redeem your digital CoolPass immediately in our app by entering your order reference number.

What age range is a child and student Prague CoolPass for?

We offer a special rate for children (6 – 16 years) and students (up to 26 years). Please note that children under the age of 6 can visit the majority of attractions, as well as use public transport for free.

Do I need my student ID to purchase the student CoolPass?

Accepted Answer

Both national and international student ID of any country will be okay, if you want to use the Prague CoolPass / Prague Card for students.
It is not required at the moment of purchase, however you may be asked to present your student ID when entering an attraction with the Prague CoolPass / Prague Card.

If I choose a Prague Card, where can I pick it up?

Accepted Answer

When you purchase the Prague Card online, you can visit any of our several collection points in Prague to pick up your order. Please check the full list on our website or in the Prague CoolPass mobile App .

Question 44

Do I have to give an exact pick-up date?

Accepted Answer

When booking the Prague CoolPass / Prague Card online, you will be asked to choose your collection-arrival date. This is only required as an approximate indication for us, so please do not worry if circumstances prevent you from showing up on that exact date.
You can pick up the cards on any day you like, before or after the specified date, and in any of the collection points.
Besides, the collection date does not affect the validity of the Prague Card. You can start using it any time within a year of the purchase date.

Why haven’t I received my voucher?

Normally, the confirmation of Prague CoolPass / Prague Card online purchase will drop into your mailbox in a few minutes. If it hasn’t arrived, please check the spam folder.
In case the voucher still cannot be found, please write a request to admin@hellopraguecard.com, so we could check the status of your order and correctness of the stated e-mail address.

Question 46

What happens if my plans change and I can’t use the Prague CoolPass?

If you have bought the Prague CoolPass / Prague Card online with us but your plans have changed and you won’t be able to use our service, you are entitled to full refund. Until the moment you activate your Prague CoolPass / Prague Card, you have the right to cancel your order at any time. 
Please send your cancellation request to admin@hellopraguecard.com, stating your full name and order reference number. We will process it immediately and issue a refund as soon as possible, using your original mode of payment. The speed of transfer will depend on the individual terms of your bank. More details can be found in our Cancellation Policy.

If my card is lost or stolen, can I get a replacement?

Please note that the Prague CoolPass / PragueCard operator provides no refunds or replacements for lost or stolen cards.

Will I get a refund if I was unable to visit certain attractions?

We always do our best to keep you updated about temporary closures, however, please note that attractions reserve the right to change their hours and fees without notice, as well as close their facilities upon force-majeure circumstances. 
We recommend to check this information directly, prior to your visit, since the Operator provides no reimbursements if you were unable to fully use the Prague CoolPass / Prague Card offer due to these reasons.
