The TV Tower in Žižkov was built between 1985 and 1992 according to the design of Ing. Arch.Václav Aulický and Dr. Ing. Jiří Kozák. Despite critical reactions of local residents who pointed to the contrast of high-tech architecture and the historic neighborhood of Žižkov, the construction was brought to completion. Today, it is recognised as one of the dominant features of Prague panorama. With its 216 meters it is not only the tallest building in Prague, but also the tallest tower and the highest viewing platform in the Czech Republic.
In 2011-2012 the tower underwent a complete refurbishment of its interior. A team of renowned Czech architects and artists were assigned to design the new space and create an interactive environment. The TV Tower was renamed Park Tower Prague.
From Žižkov Tower Observatory, which you can visit for free with CoolPass, you will get an incredible view of Prague in 360°. It is located at a height of almost one hundred meters and has three thematically different cabins - with the look also depending on a particular time of day and season.
The first space of the observation cabin will introduce you to the federation of the world's towers and the most famous ones. In the next cabin are the famous bubble chairs, from which you can enjoy beautiful Prague. Each chair has its own speaker that projects sounds from the street 100 meters below you. The last cabin serves as an exhibition and always presents regular exhibitions of Czech artists.
