The Church of Our Lady Victorious (Kostel Panny Marie Vítězné), governed by the Carmelites Order, is located in Malá Strana and often referred to as the Shrine of the Infant Jesus of Prague. This name is due to the fact that in the 17th century it became home to the famous Child Jesus statue – provided as a gift by Polyxena, 1st Princess Lobkowicz.

The origins of this statue are found in Spain, which is the reason why it is held in a particularly high esteem by visitors from Hispanic countries. However, for many Christians from all over the world it remains a popular pilgrimage destination. Dressed in royal clothes and holding a golden orb, the Infant Jesus is a very touching sight and credited with working amazing miracles.

Go up the spiral stairs to the right of the altar and you will find yourself in a wonderful free museum, dedicated to various outfits of the sacred Jesus statue. Those include about 50 crowns and robes – one of which was decorated by Empress Maria Theresia – and other religious-themed objects, like crosses, chalices, etc.
